E – Symbols (The meanings or the interpretation of most symbols in this dictionary are derived from the Bible)

Eagle

An eagle speaks of the renewal and restoration of physical or spiritual strength. Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles.

Eagles also speak of the prophetic ministry. Just as an eagle waits for the wind to blow and to build up so that it can soar high and far above the ground, giving the eagle a advantageous view, so is a person in the prophetic ministry. The eagle sees far and wide and it sees much detail. It allows the wind (Holy Spirit) to affects its direction, flight and destination. An eagle in a dream can therefore speak of prophetic elements about a person who is functioning in the prophetic ministry. The prophetic gifts of discernment of spirits, word of wisdom and word of knowledge operates in their lives. The revelations of sins in people’s lives and the discerning of God’s judgment for sins also function in their lives.

A person with the nature of an eagle is a person who allows the Holy Spirit to affect his destination. Such a person is directed by the Holy Spirit.

In some cases the judgment of the Lord is symbolized by an eagle.

An eagle soaring on the wind whilst scouting the ground for prey symbolizes a person who is depending on the leading of the Holy Spirit towards financial breakthroughs and propositions.

Also see “Animals” and “Creatures (Of the air)” for a better understanding of this symbol.

Eagle (Flying)

Also see “Animals” and “Creatures (Of the air)” for a better understanding of this symbol.

Eagle (Landing)

Seeing that an eagle is a symbol for the prophetic ministry, an eagle coming in to land in a dream speaks of a specific prophesy coming into fulfillment. It is important to note the color of the eagle and also other symbols in the dream in order to understand which prophesy is referred to.

Eagles speaks of prophesies from God where outside influences do not play a role in terms of the fulfillment of the prophesy. God will ensure that such a prophesy comes into fulfillment irrespective of obstacles, circumstances, obedience or disobedience.

This is different when we see an aeroplane coming in for a landing. In such cases the fulfillment of the prophecy depends on human behavior. Such prophecies depends on us believing, praying and being obedient in order to ensure that such promises comes into fulfillment. A crashed aeroplane indicates that a certain prophetic word has not and will not come into fulfillment. Also see “Vehicle (Aeroplane)”.
