Hi Kathy,

This dream is indeed a reflection of the influences of our forefathers had on us today. It reveals what was important to them and it reveals their priorities and interests. Right through the dream, it is clear that it was all about us looking back and appreciating and adopting their behavior, ways of living, and interests. You referring to the 1960s is an example of this constant underlying theme.

It was always important for people to gather and appreciate art and items that are considered valuable like the athlete uniform and the antiques. All these things always had great value to people (Jesus did not even have a roof over his head. His only possession was the clothes that He wore).

All the symbols in the dream were negative. Toys represent adults playing instead of being busy with valuable spiritual callings and ministries. The adult refrigerator containing sweets is another example. Sweets represent useless teachings (spiritual food) that have no spiritual value. There was no spiritual food like meat or bread in the refrigerator.

The abundance of provisions represents man’s motivation and desires for financial wealth. We have been influenced by them in this area as well. Instead of seeking divine spiritual blessings and real divine values, people are lusting after wealth and money.

The 25 acres of land: Land in dreams and visions symbolizes our spiritual territory or sphere of influence. It speaks of what we managed to inherit and it speaks of our position as rulers (kings, priests, and lords) in the kingdom of God. In another sense, it can symbolize our spiritual journey. In this sense, it might appear in the dream or the vision that we are walking or moving from one place to another (just a matter of location) but in reality, it symbolizes our journey in life.

In this dream, the number 25 speaks of a negative 2 and a negative 5: A negative 2 symbolizes disagreement or disunity or division or separation from God and what really has spiritual value. In a negative sense, the number five symbolizes fruitlessness or bareness. So the land of 25 acres represents a long journey of separation and fruitless and bareness whilst our forefathers enjoyed financial and worldly riches in abundance or at least, influencing all of us to strive for these things and not spiritual blessings and riches.

The secret place, where you decided not to go to represents bad things that most people do not know about and only some people interested in. These are evil secretive movements and cults and bad stuff that our forefathers influenced us to carry out in our lives as well. In the dream, it is clear that there are people who are interested in those things.

In this dream, you represent the people who are happy with all these bad influences. You “moving in” and rearranging furniture speaks of people accepting this lifestyle that our forefathers gave to us. This is not you, God showed you how easily people accept this lifestyle of our forefathers that has influenced us for so many years.

Take note that there were no symbols that represent generational curses but rather symbols that represent bad lifestyles and bad examples. So the influences were subtle. We saw what they did and we chose to do the same. So this dream is also a confirmation that the danger is not generational curses but daily influences all around us.

Important: So although God promised mankind that He will repeal the law of generational curses through his prophet Jeremiah: Jeremiah 31:29-30 In those days people will no longer say, The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. Instead, everyone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes – their own teeth will be set on edge. This is what God promised in the days of Jeremiah and very soon after the promise, those days arrived…

And although God did declare that He has fulfilled this promise in the days of Ezekiel, people still believe in generational curses. Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Read the whole chapter of Ezekiel 18 and you will see that the promise made in the days of Jeremiah was indeed fulfilled in the days of Ezekiel. God was surprised that the Israelites were offended by this. See Ezekiel 18:19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.

So people still refer to Scriptures about generational curses which were recorded in the Bible before Jeremiah and Ezekiel and they ignore the Scriptures that came after the Scriptures that they so zealously use to support their false doctrines. They refer to old laws that were legally repealed by God and still apply them to people today. They don’t do that with other Scriptures like the one about “an eye for an eye, a hand for a hand and a tooth for a tooth” which was also repealed.
