M – Symbols (The meanings or the interpretation of most symbols in this dictionary are derived from the Bible)

Mail

Mail, in dreams and visions, symbolizes a message from God. It is a confirmation that you are or will be receiving an answer from God or a message from God.

In a natural sense, mail speaks of a message from a person or from an institution that is important to such a person.

See “Letters”, “Letterbox” and “Envelope” for more information about this symbol.

Maize (Grain)

Luke 8:11

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Maize symbolizes a person’s own effort or commitment or involvement in the kingdom of God or in his personal life or ministry. This is a positive symbol indicating the good and industrious work of a person that will benefit such a person.

Man

Genesis 1:26-28

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The human race was created in the image of God and was also appointed to be the rulers of this earth. Man was instructed to subdue everything according to the will and the ways of God. Therefore, Christians are the ambassadors of God. They have the word of God in their hearts and they are carriers of the will of God.

It is quite common for God to send people to other people with messages and instructions. A man in dreams, therefore, symbolizes a messenger from God with a message from God. This might be a real person. It might even be the person in the dream or vision. This messenger might be a preacher or another Christian worker. In some cases, the messenger in the dream might even be an imaginary messenger. In such a case, the dream is about the message and not really the messenger. The presence of a man (messenger) in such a dream is then purely to present the authenticity of the message. It means that the white man that gave you the message in the dream is from God. See “Man (White)”

Unfortunately, though, some men are not messengers from God but in fact messengers from satan or at least representing themselves, with deceiving messages or lies or erroneous opinions. In dreams and visions, the type of messages (true or false) are symbolized by the skin colors of the messengers. It has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with color. The type of message is determined by the skin color of the messenger but also by the clothes they wear.

See “Man (Rich)”

Man (Black)

A black man symbolizes a messenger (from the enemy or a messenger with his own opinion) with a false message of unbelief or evil or lies. Please take note that in real life, in the kingdom of God, black people do not differ from white people at all. Black people are not evil and they are not satan’s messengers. In dreams, it is all about colors. A black man in a dream may symbolize the situation in the life of a white man or a white woman or a black man or a black woman or any other race or gender who is spreading a false message of unbelief or false doctrines. It has nothing to do with race or gender but everything to do with the authenticity of a message.

Please take note that a black man in dreams in visions does not always speak of a false message of unbelief, evil or lies. Sometimes it represents a literal black man (most of the time, literally the person in the dream or vision) in which case, the color black does not mean anything. The same can be said for Asians, Indians, a white man or a man of any other race. In some dreams, the person represents a particular nation. For this reason, we always need to pray about this aspect to determine the meanings of different races in dreams and visions.

Man (Black, raping someone)

A black man in dreams and visions raping someone symbolizes a person who wants to forcefully move people to believe his false doctrines. It speaks of a person who tries his best to persuade someone in believing certain doctrines. These false doctrines are firmly established in this man’s spirit and that is why it is in his seed. It is part of his spiritual DNA. Nobody should ever force or aggressively persuade people to believe their doctrines. People should be free to believe Biblical doctrines without any pressure from other people.

Man (Brown or Hispanic or Asian or Indian)

The different colors of different people in dreams and visions are very significant. Each color and each gradation of skin color in a dream or a vision changes the meaning of the dream. It changes the messages that these people bring. It has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with color. The type of message is determined by the skin color of the messenger but also by the clothes they wear. Take note of the following skin colors of messengers in dreams and visions: Black, black-brown, black-red, brown, brown-yellow, copper-red, light brown, dark brown, white, yellow, etc. The different gradations symbolize a mixture of the colors it represents.

See “Colors in dreams and visions” for a better understanding of this symbol.

In this sense, a black man with a reddish undertone in his skin color, in dreams and visions, symbolizes a message which is or cause, unbelief or depression or fear or evil or separation from God (black), and anger or conflict or hate or division or dissension (red). It represents a bad messenger with a bad message. Check “Colors in dreams and visions” and apply this principle when interpreting the meanings of dreams and visions.

Man/Woman (Flying by himself or herself)

This speaks of a person with supernatural spiritual abilities. It refers to the ability of a person to overcome earthly laws and natural situations like sicknesses and diseases and other bad situations (divine healing, wonders, and miracles). At first, a person might dream that they jump higher in the air than physically normal. Jumps speak of initial attempts to overcome natural laws and natural ways of life (breaking free). Later, as such a person grows spiritually, he might dream that he flies and eventually flying higher and faster. Such a person is moving supernaturally in the Spirit. The higher and the faster the flight the more a person is overcoming the limitations of natural worldly laws (bondage or subjection).

Man (The Face of man)

Luke 7:13

And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

Luke 15:20

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

A person’s face in dreams and visions speaks of a person’s personality. One can see the personality of a person on his face like the verses above suggest. Different symbols on the face, like an insect or a sore or facial hair on a person’s face, reveal more information regarding the specific person’s personality and actions. Remember, personality determines specific actions.

Man (White)

1 John 4:3

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

A white man in dreams and visions symbolizes a person (with a message from God), of faith or victory or righteousness or holiness or truth. Please take note that in real life, in the kingdom of God, people of other races do not differ from white people at all. People of color are not evil and they are not satan’s messengers. In dreams, it is all about colors.

See “Man Black)” and “Man (Brown or Hispanic or Asian or Indian)” for a better understanding of this symbol.

Man (White, raping someone)

A white man in dreams and visions raping someone symbolizes a person who wants to forcefully move people to believe his doctrines. It speaks of a person who tries his best to persuade someone in believing certain doctrines. In this case, the doctrines are the truth. It is firmly established in this man’s spirit and that is why it is in his seed. It is part of his spiritual DNA. However, such a person should never force these doctrines on people even though these doctrines are true. People should be free to believe Biblical doctrines without any pressure from other people.

Man (Being hung)

A man being hung symbolizing a person dying to self. It is a spiritual aspect in the lives of Christians by crucifying the desires and the works of the flesh or the soul. It brings changes in a person’s life. It speaks of us dying so that Christ can live in and through us. We become less so that He can become more.

In another sense, a person being hung speaks of the end of a situation. It might be a bad situation in the life of a person that caused a lot of emotional turmoil that is coming to an end.

Manna

Deuteronomy 8:3

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.

Revelation 2:17

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Manna symbolizes fresh revelations from God. It speaks of “eating” the true living word of God. It speaks of fresh “truths” directly from God through fasting or prayer and the studying of his word. It speaks of the “Rhema” word of God (fresh revelations from the Holy Spirit) which is coming alive in our hearts or spirits. We always need to seek the face of God so that we can hear every word that proceeds out of his mouth. Fresh manna is the truth and it is life.

The Scriptures is full of riches and it is everlasting and it is always true. It belongs to us and we can always apply it in every situation and in all aspects of our lives. What is even more wonderful is when God, at a specific time in our lives, emphasizes or highlights a specific part of Scripture in a specific situation. He does it by revealing specific Scriptures to us as fresh “manna”. At that moment that Scripture becomes a “Rhema” word and a powerful “weapon” in our hands. It becomes the “sword of the Spirit” which we can use to change our lives. This means that we can use the word of God to call things into existence. We can speak to the mountain and it will obey the words that proceed from our mouths.

Mark (Forehead or hands or on other body parts)

Genesis 4:15

And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

Ezekiel 9:4-6

4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

Romans 16:17

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Revelation 14:1

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.

A mark on a person or a group of people (especially on the foreheads and hands) in dreams and visions symbolizes a unique sign or distinction or identification. These marks can represent good or bad conditions. These marks can differ (different symbols like 666 or the Name of Jesus or any other name or symbol). These symbols in the dream or vision will shed more light on the details of the particular distinction or identification.

When a Christian dream that he is confronted to receive the mark of the beast, it speaks of him being involved with circumstances that he is not comfortable with. It can even speak of a Christian who feels that he is a backslider and that his spiritual condition is lukewarm. People who are not happy with their spiritual condition might dream that they are in danger of receiving the mark of the beast. Such a dream is a call for repentance and commitment.

Mattress (White)

A white mattress symbolizes a place and a time of righteous rest. It speaks of a person who needs and who deserves to rest a bit. Dreaming of a white mattress is usually a call for rest.

Meat

Hebrews 12:12-14

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

John 4:34

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

John 6:27

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

1 Corinthians 3:2

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

Meat in dreams and visions symbolizes the solid (strong, for mature Christians) word of God.

In a negative sense, it symbolizes well established false doctrines (strong ) words of deceit (doctrines of devils – for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses). Such meat will be identified by dark (much more than normal) or negative colors or being poisoned and so on.

See “Meat (Being cooked)”

Medicine

Medicine in dreams and visions symbolizes the word of God that has the ability to cause or to ensure healing in a physical sense or a spiritual sense. People need healing in their bodies but they also need mental healing as well as emotional healing. Medicine is, therefore, words regarding divine healing. Medicine is not food but it is still a substance that is taken in by the mouth and absorbed in our digestive system. In this sense, “medicine”, in dreams and visions, are special words of healing (word of God), prepared for a specific person for a specific substandard condition (sickness, disease, mental condition or emotional condition).

See “Pharmacy” and see “Balm” and see “Food” for a better understanding of this symbol.

Messenger

Malachi 3:1-2

1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.

2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap.

John 1:14-18

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Jesus Christ is the real and true Messenger of God. He came to this earth to reveal the father to us. The church and of course all Christians are the ambassadors of Christ and therefore the messengers of Christ. We actually carry out the work that Christ started on this earth. For this reason, we are also the messengers of God (Christ).

In dreams and visions, we are all (men and women) symbolizes as messengers by means of the symbol of a man.

Milk

1 Corinthians 3:2

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

Hebrews 5:12-14

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Milk speaks of basic spiritual food (principles of God in the area of salvation, repentance, the baptism in water and in the Spirit of God). It is all about the elementary doctrines or the elementary information about Christianity and faith. It is about the first Biblical principles of our salvation and our position in Christ and in the kingdom of God. This information is specifically meant for newborn Christians. As we all know, babies, infants, and toddlers are physically, mentally and socially immature.

Babies still rely a lot on their mothers and other adults to help them develop and help them deal with life. Spiritually this is also true. Young Christians rely on spiritually mature Christians to feed them with the pure and elementary word of God. Later in life, they learn to prepare their own food and even later in life, when they have reached spiritual maturity, they enjoy thick juicy and of course even tough steaks, which, in a spiritual sense, are the solid food of the Church.

Miracles

John 3:2

The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Acts 2:22

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.

Acts 15:12

Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

Revelation 13:14

And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Revelation 19:20

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Whenever we see or experience miracles in dreams and visions it symbolizes the supernatural power of God or the “supernatural” power of evil. It is important to know that the supernatural power of God exceeds those of evil tremendously. God’s power is unlimited and absolutely anything and everything is possible when God moves. God has power in all realms and in all levels of all realms. That means He can enter into all these realms (the spiritual realm and the natural realm) and do whatever He wants. In the spiritual realm, He can act in the heavenly domain (God’s domain), in the domain of angels and in the domain of demons. He has unlimited power in all these domains.

Christians have power in the spiritual realm as well as the natural realm. In the spiritual realm and in the natural realm Christians are only subject to God and his rules and principles that govern these realms. Nothing is impossible for Christians in these realms as long as it is in the will of God and according to the principles that He has put in place to govern these realms and the power and authority of Christians.

Unbelievers have power in the natural realm only and these powers are very limited but yet, through their works and human efforts they can achieve quite a lot.

Angels have power in the angelical domain but they are subject to God and his laws for this domain. They can also enter and work in the natural realm but are subject to the will and actions of Christians. They can only work according to what either God or Christians allow them to do in the natural realm.

Evil spirits (demons) have power in the domain of fallen angels but they are subject to God and his laws for this domain. They can also enter and work in the natural realm but are subject to the will and actions of people. They can only work according to what people allow them to do in the natural realm.

Prophets and the Biblical Language of Symbols

The power and actions of God are truly supernatural in the sense that it can function and operate anywhere (in all domains and all level of those domains) without any help from any other creature. He is completely sovereign. The power of God is natural for him but supernatural for any other creature alive in the universe of God. The power and actions of Christians are natural but also supernatural because they function and operate in the natural but also in the power of God which was delegated to them. This power actually belongs to them.

The power and actions of demons are natural for them but natural for everybody because demons cannot function in the power of God. They can only function in their natural power in the spiritual world and with the power of people. Without the help of people, they cannot function in the natural world at all. Angels can because angels can function in the natural world without the power and help of people. They can function in the power of God in the natural world.

Whatever demons do is not amazing at all. They can only do things that we allow them to do.

In fact, everything done by evil spirits is completely natural. They do not possess special powers to do amazing things. It appears to be amazing by people who allow them to perform certain acts in the natural world. The bottom line is that they wouldn’t have been able to do it if these human beings did not allow them to do it. For this reason, demons are extremely limited as to what they can do in both the spiritual world and the natural world.

When we dream of miracles (good or bad) it symbolizes supernatural power (good or bad).

Money

In dreams and visions, money symbolizes the spoken word of God. The word of God produces faith (faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God). A gold coin speaks of the spoken word of God which produces Godly faith. Godly faith is, in fact, the Godly “currency” which enables us to buy spiritual blessings. Faith in action is therefore closely related to money in dreams and visions. So although money symbolizes the word of God, never forget that faith is God’s currency in the kingdom of God and should always be taken into consideration when interpreting dreams.

Money (bill)

A money bill speaks of the written word of God which is the word of God or a good spiritual book.

Money (Exchange foreign money for local money)

When a person dreams that he exchanges foreign currency into local currency it means that he needs to translate a spiritual book or the Bible into another language.

Excellent Dream Interpreter?

Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the Lord in the sabbaths and in the new moons.

Psalm 81:3

Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

Revelation 12:1

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.

The moon speaks of the comfort and joy of the Holy Spirit (as per the new moon festivals of the old Jewish nation). The Holy Spirit can be experienced as a feast of joy, comfort and peace. The Father is sometimes symbolized by the son, Jesus Christ by the Bright Morning star and The Holy Spirit by the moon.

The moon is therefore sometimes a symbol of the Holy Spirit acting like a loving caring mother comforting her child. Like a mother desiring to lead her child in terms of their faith-walk, the Holy Spirit does the same. In this sense, the Holy Spirit is like the moon shining in the darkness so as to give some light (insight or leading) in terms of our faith-walk in Christ.

The moon also speaks of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The workings and actions of the Holy Spirit are therefore symbolized by the moon in dreams and visions.

In a negative sense, the moon symbolizes demonic activities (not the Holy Spirit but false spirits).

Morning Star

Revelation 22:16

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

In dreams and visions, the bright morning star symbolizes Jesus Christ.

Moses

Deuteronomy 18:18

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

Hebrews 3:1-6

1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

The Biblical Moses, in dreams and visions, symbolizes Jesus Christ the Deliverer, the Prophet, the Mediator, the Sent One and the Lawgiver. It speaks of the role that Moses played in terms of the deliverance of Israel (all aspects).

Mosquito

Proverbs 2:6

For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Just as a mosquito, being a parasite, sucking blood from the host, so is a person who gets advise from other people instead of from God. A person who is symbolized by a mosquito is only fruitful when he drains other people for wisdom, initiative and advise. Instead of obtaining his own wisdom and fruitfulness from God, such a person depends on other people. Such a person does not develop an intimate and personal relationship with God.

See “Insects” and “Moth” for a better understanding of this symbol.

Mother

John 3:3-5

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

When you dream of your mother it symbolizes the Holy Spirit. We are all spiritually born of the Holy Spirit as we all have been in the natural of our earthly mothers.

Mountains

Isaiah 2:2

And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Psalm 133:1

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Zechariah 4:7

Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Mountains in dreams and visions speak of promotions, victories and/or breakthroughs (strength, power, stability, and majesty). These breakthroughs and victories are achieved through effort and perseverance. People climbing and reaching the top of a mountain speak of victories and promotions through effort and perseverance. The different kinds of mountains symbolize certain additional aspects regarding the victories and breakthroughs that were achieved.

In a negative sense, mountains symbolize obstacles that need to be removed or conquered. Usually, when climbing such a mountain a lot of hindrances and hardships are symbolized by loose rocks falling from the top, difficult areas to reach or steep rock faces and other difficult areas to overcome. Sometimes it is just almost impossible to find a place for your feet or your hands to get a grip which speaks of people going through very difficult circumstances to obtain victory.

Mountain (Black and removed)

Black mountains being removed in dreams and visions speak of difficult, heavy or depressing obstacles in a person’s life is removed.

Mountain (Paper mountain)

Mountains appearing to be real in dreams and visions but later found to be made of paper indicates that the situation is not really a problem as anticipated. The particular person just thought that it was.

Mountain (Snow on top)

Mountains with snow on the top speaks of a situation that appears to be an obstacle but which will eventually be a financial or spiritual blessing. Snow is frozen water and therefore a blessing. When it melts the promises of blessings come into fulfillment. In such cases, your blessings and your victory are just frozen or preserved for the future.

14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

A person’s mouth is closely related to lips. A mouth in dreams and visions symbolizes a person who testifies about the good things of God.

In a negative sense, a mouth symbolizes a person who testifies about bad things in life. Mouths in dreams and visions speak of either the oracles of God that bring life or a person who speaks negative and irresponsible and bad words that bring death.

With the help of the teeth, the mouth is also used to “eat” the word of God. It is in fact what we “eat” that determines what we speak.

See “Lips” and “Teeth” and “Tongue” for a better understanding of this symbol.

Moving back (reversing a car or stepping back or walking back)

Moving back in dreams and visions speaks of withdrawing in a spiritual sense or losing ground. It symbolizes spiritual deterioration or people backsliding.

See “Moving forward”

Moving forward

Moving forward in dreams and visions speaks of people gaining ground in a spiritual or a natural sense. It speaks of progress.

Mud

Mud symbolizes sins or mixing with the world. It speaks of worldly or fleshly actions.

See “Mud (On feet and shoes)”

Mud (On hands)

Mud on hands speaks of a person organizing or planning sins or a sinful life. It speaks of those actions that make sins possible in a person’s life.

Mulberry tree

See “Tree (Mulberry tree)”

Mule

Psalm 32:9

Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

A mule in dreams and visions is closely related to an ass. It symbolizes stubbornness.

See “Ass”

Mummy

A mummy symbolizes a person who holds onto old traditions. Old traditions in the church which are artificially kept alive speak of the preservation of something which is actually dead. We all know that the church is a living breathing creature, the bride of Christ and the children of God. The fundamental or foundational truths and ways of the living body of Christ never changes. It always stays relevant. However, man-made traditions are not really part of the church and should not be preserved.

With this symbol, we are actually referring to man-made institutions and traditions. We know that many false doctrines, liturgical traditions, and methods of worship and all sorts of rules and regulations were implemented in the institutional church through the years. It all started with Constantine and it still happens today.

God has been quite busy through all those years with the restoration of the church. Restoration means “change”. The church has been delivered from a lot of those man-made institutions and God is still busy purifying the body of Christ. A mummy represents a person who resists change by holding onto old church doctrines.

Mushroom

Jonah 4:10

Then said the Lord, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night.

A mushroom symbolizes fast growth or a sudden reaction on some financial or spiritual trigger, causing fast growth without much labor. This speaks of an unexpected and sudden financial blessing.

Mushroom (Pale)

In a negative sense, a pale colored mushroom symbolizes a temptation to grow fast. In this case, fast growth may end up in possible death or financial losses as symbolized by the pale color of the mushroom.

Music

1 Samuel 18:6

And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick.

2 Chronicles 7:6

And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.

Luke 15:25

Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. (Brother of the prodigal son who arrived back home)

Music in dreams is a symbol of joy, praise, and worship. It is all about expressing our joy in the Lord through thankfulness, praise, and worship. Music speaks of the need for us to bow down before God in submission and thankfulness. It speaks of giving God the honor for all the good He has done in our lives.

In a natural sense, music speaks of joy because of some incident that made us very happy or will make us happy when it happens.

Mustache

A mustache is a symbol of spiritual strength or honor and age (maturity) in terms of the spoken word of God

If a person dreams of a mustache made of flesh it symbolizes that he speaks words of flesh and not the word of God. This mustache of flesh must be removed and replaced with a real mustache (white or gold or purple or blue).

Mussels

Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

In a general sense, mussels symbolize wrong methods of approaching people. Mussels cling to a rock in such a way that it is very difficult to remove them. The harder you try to remove them the more they resist you from removing them from the rock. This is sometimes symbolized by applying a knife from the back of a mussel to forcefully remove it from the rock. This speaks of people who sometimes approach other people in a harsh legalistic way which causes resistance (knife). People want to be approached in a more civil or positive way like inviting them or “drawing” or “pulling” them in the right direction.

In a positive sense, mussels speak of “steadfastness” by clinging onto the Rock of ages, Jesus Christ.

In a negative sense, especially pertaining to a specific situation, this clinging onto something can also be negative when it is the wrong things they cling onto.

See “Animals” and “Creatures (Of the sea)” for a better understanding of this symbol.

Mustard

Myrrh

Psalm 45:7-8

7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

Proverbs 7:17

I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

John 19:39

And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

Myrrh in dreams and visions symbolizes praise and worship in spite of suffering and hardships.

  1. So you meant a black men symbolize messenger from darkness. I am sure you are demon possessed and sent from hell. The spirit that gave you this interpretation is not of God. You need to repent and accept Yeshua the Christ.

    • I am sorry that this offends you. It is explained quite clearly in this post that it is all about the meanings of colors (Color spectrum). It is not about the human being. The meaning of this symbol has been thoroughly checked and double checked numerous times and real life situations and incidents have been recorded to prove it over and over again. We have made no mistake here. Meanings of dream symbols belong to God. He is the Author of each and every symbol and it’s meaning. He is not a racist and I am not a racist. I am not apologizing for something that I have no control over. Dream symbols and it’s meanings does not belong to me. You can either accept it or reject it but that will not change the meaning of this symbol.

  2. Animals
In dreams and visions, the characteristics of animals symbolizes attitudes, strengths, weaknesses, sins and demonic influences in the lives of people. This is all about the discerning of spirits. When you dream of a giraffe, for instance, the Holy Spirit warns you that you are going to deal with a person with a haughtiness or an overweening spirit. Remember that these symbols (animals) helps you to discern the attitude of people. Do not forget however, that it also gives you insight into the demonic influences in these people’s lives. This means that the symbol may speak of a specific person but it can also speak of demonic activities in that person’s life. If the dream was about you it speaks of you directly but it can also speak of evil spirits trying to influence you negatively. As I said it is about the discernment of spirits which do include the activities of evil spirits.

Please take note that in real live all animals are all the same in God’s sight. He loves all animals. He created them all. There is no such thing as a bad animal. Animals do not sin and they just live as God created them. It is true that animals do display good or bad or evil behavior but this is how God created them to be. The same with insects.

    Man
A man in dreams symbolizes a messenger with a message. This might be a real person. It might even be the person in the dream. This messenger might be a preacher or another Christian worker. In some cases the messenger in the dream might be an imaginary messenger. In such case the dream is about the message and not really the messenger. The presence of a man (messenger) in such a dream is then purely to present all the messages you received through the years from different people.

    Man (Black)
A black man symbolizes a messenger from the enemy with a false message of unbelief or evil or lies. Please take note that in real life, in the kingdom of God, black people do not differ from white people at all. Black people are not evil and they are not Satan’s messengers. In dreams it is all about colors (See “Colors in dreams and visions (Black)”. A black man (in a dream) may symbolize the situation in the life of a white man or a white woman or a black man or a black woman or any other race or gender who is spreading a false message of unbelief or a false doctrine. It has nothing to do with race or gender but everything to do with the authenticity of a message.

Please take note that a black man in dreams in visions does not always speak of a false message of unbelief, evil or lies. Sometimes it represents a literal black man in which case the color black does not mean anything. The same can be said for Asians, Indians, etc. In some dreams the person represents the nation or a natural person. In other dreams the person’s color represents the meaning of the specific colors in dreams. For this reason we always need to pray about this aspect to determine the meanings of different races in dreams and visions.

    Man (White)
A white man in dreams and visions symbolizes a person (with a message from God), of faith or victory or righteousness or holiness or truth. Please take note that in real life, in the kingdom of God, black people do not differ from white people at all. Black people are not evil and they are not Satan’s messengers. In dreams it is all about colors (See “Colors in dreams and visions)”. A black man (in a dream) may symbolize the situation in the life of a white man or a white woman or a black man or a black woman or any other race or gender who is spreading a false message of unbelief or a false doctrine. It has nothing to do with race or gender but everything to do with the authenticity of a message.
