I wish I new the trigger but I don’t right now…maybe the Lord will give it to me.

As I was falling asleep I just saw a snapshot of a child sitting on a windowsill with a white cloudy window behind him.(cloudiness was not from steam) The room was gloomy and the childs head was bowed down. I got the sense the room was in the basement.
The best way I can describe the cloudiness…when a business is closed they will paint white paint on the window that looks like clouds to keep people from seeing in. In the dream there was soft light coming through the cloudy window.
      Another snapshot
The next symbol: Clear clean glass shower door with a small opening on the bottom left that you could hand something through. There was a happy child playing in the bath water. The shower itself was bright white as was the whole room.

HI Smidge, before I interpret your dream I just want to make sure of something: Was the girl on the windowsill outside the room? As I understand it, you were both outside the room (you in the street or on the pavement and the room was behind that cloudy window)

      Hi Smidge,

(The child (boy) was inside the room. I don’t see myself but I see from the inside, not the outside.)

Sorry, I changed the heading to “boy”.

The boy in the dream is either o young person or it symbolizes a young ministry (new but not “new” as in baby-new, more like a young ministry) or it may represent a still immature ministry.

The “gloomy” room and the “head down” posture of the child speak of some demonic influences (gloomy) causing depression and a bit of hopelessness (head hanging).

The fact that the cloudiness prevented the child or anybody else to see through the window, which speaks of something, (possibly spiritual influences) preventing spiritual insight, indicate that this child is a bit down because he (whoever he or whatever he represents) cannot grasp what is going on or what the real situation is (whatever it is all about). He cannot see into the spirit realm or he cannot see the real facts because of the “cloudy obstruction”, but, he probably knows that it is something good because of the “soft light” shining through.

Light in dreams and visions symbolizes God, Jesus Christ, and the believers (the church). God is light, He gave that light to us (it shines in our hearts) and we can, therefore, be a light in this world just like Jesus is. Light is all over this world because of the saints. We possess light. It is our inheritance and one of our spiritual belongings (light is life).
In another sense, light symbolizes the word of God. It shines on our path so that we do not have to walk in darkness.

If this is a basement, then this child is probably a grown-up now. In this case, this snapshot is a revelation of the past of a specific person, specifically referring to the “root” of his problems (the reason why he does not have spiritual insight). The “backyard” of a house refers to past incidents in a person’s life but the basement refers to past “root causes” (bad foundations) of current problems.

The next dream (snapshot) is exactly what this person needs. He needs to repent.

Bathing is a symbol of cleansing and purification. When you are bathing you are allowing God to wash you with the blood of Christ. Repentance of specific sins is symbolized with bathing. A person bathing is repenting. See “Soap” and “Shower” and “Basin” and “Bathroom” for a better understanding of this symbol.

So to get rid of the past “roots” that cause problems in people’s lives, they need to repent. This will make them happy as is represented by the child playing happily in the water. One of the things that it immediately solves in people’s lives, is that there are no more cloudy windows anymore after repentance as is symbolized by the clear glass shower door. Repentance opens spiritual insight. It actually opens our eyes so that we can see and understand the way and the word and the will of God in all situations.

This is the basis of our counseling course (our Bachelor’s degree that we launched last week).

This is a short excerpt out of lesson 1 of this course: Dr. Jay E. Adams rightly emphasized the fact that a Christian must start with a Biblical foundation and built from it a Christian methodology of counseling that rests upon and which is consistent with this foundation. We must begin with the Scriptures and we should know the word of God.

The Biblical counselor also needs to understand that man’s basic problem is a sin problem. All substandard circumstances and challenges start with sin, even in the lives of victims. It starts with disobedience and because of this, the remedy is always Jesus Christ, the word of God, and obedience to the word of God. If we begin with any other foundation, we will not be able to change people’s lives. We will not be able to set people free or to deliver them from bondage. We will not be able to bring about the behavior changes that are required. Man is responsible for his actions. Man makes responsible or irresponsible choices. When counselors really understand this, they have the foundation that they need to help people through Biblical and nouthetic counseling.

      Hi Basie,

Just 2 things: I do understand what you mean by the “basic sin” problem that causes all problems that man faces every day, but, what do you mean by “even victims” (I am referring to your excerpt from the Counseling Course)? Secondly, what does the “with a small opening on the bottom left that you could hand something through” mean? I am referring to your interpretation of Smidge’s snapshot visions or dreams.

      Hi Stephany,

Oh my, I forgot about the small opening! To understand the meaning of that, we need to take a look at the meaning of “hands” when it is seen in s dream or a vision:

The hands of a person symbolize the power and organizational aspects of the body of Christ. It is all about power (opportunity and ability to bring into existence) organizing, functioning, and the handling of spiritual issues in the body of Christ. It symbolizes strength, power, possession (in one’s hand), and action. It also speaks of the helping hand of God which was delegated to the church. It is about equipping the saints for the ministry and the building up of the body of Christ. Even the finger of God by which Jesus cast out demons speaks of the work of God.
There is a difference between hand and foot although it appears to be very similar. With “hand” the emphasis is on power and organizing and guiding whilst with “foot” the emphasis is on stepping out and performing what was decided upon. See “Foot”

So the opening in the shower door means that not only is there a clear glass (spiritual insight) into the life of the specific person, there is now the opportunity and ability to reach that person (opening for hand to go through and hand the person something) with whatever they need (spiritual input, which is the relevant or applicable word or will or ways of God) to be delivered or set free (the authentic Biblical counseling process as God intended).

To answer your other question: Jesus Christ was the first example of a person in the Bible who forgave people whilst they were still in the process of hurting him. Stephan was another example. Whilst the Jews were stoning him to death, He forgave them immediately. His prayer was exactly as Jesus’ prayer was, “Father forgive them because they do not know what they do”. By doing this, it was impossible for bitterness and hate and unforgiveness (very bad emotional sins), to be harbored in Stephan’s heart.

So Stephan acted exactly as Jesus did. As we all know, emotional sins cause people to end up in hell, because if we do not forgive people, God cannot forgive us.

So, bad people do evil things (sin) to good people, who start to harbor very bad emotional sins in their hearts (emotional sins), aimed against those people like hate, bitterness, and unforgiveness. Check the meaning of Toilet “solids” for a good explanation about this. So at the end of the day, it is quite true when we make the statement that almost all problems and issues in people’s lives that require them to be counseled to be set free and delivered, are caused by sin, even in the lives of the victims. Very few people act as Stephan and Jesus did. People usually take years and years to forgive people and some never do.
