This week’s find: Climb the Highest Mountain by Gene Edwards
About the book: Few pieces of Christian literature ever address the subject of division in the body of Christ. Fewer still address the problem of how a Christian should conduct himself in such times and how to survive the aftermath.
Every Christian will face division at some time in his life. Many will be caught up in the vortex of a conflagration so great that they very well may be destroyed. Few believers – if any at all – are spiritually prepared for such a devastating ordeal. Gene Edwards raises a new standard of conduct for Christians who find themselves in such a crisis, and points them to a way out…unscarred.
I was recommended this book by several house church leaders. Gene Edwards is also involved in various house churches around the United States and the world. He is man of God that I highly respect and admire for his willingness to go against modern traditions to follow the Word of God.
This book deals with a college group in the 1970’s that is undergoing termoil and splits. Edwards had helped start this informal church in California. The church had stared out wonderfully but has degressed into splits and even sin. This book is from the messages and teaching that Edwards gave to this group after being apart from them for one year in their fighting.
The book offers insights into what it takes to love each other in the Church as Jesus commanded us (John 13:34-35). We are to climb the highest mountain (not settle for the standard of modern Christianity nor settle into lukewarmness). This book will offer you insights into how God calls us to live in peace with one another (Hebrews 12:14-15).
About the Author: Gene Edwards (born July 18, 1932) is an American house church planter, a Christian author, and a former Southern Baptist pastor and evangelist. A graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he is an outspoken proponent of the house church concept in the United States. Gene Edwards is the author of around thirty Christian books, the best known of these being “The Divine Romance,” “A Tale of Three Kings,” and “The Chronicles of The Door.”
He holds conferences around the country on the deeper Christian life and the house church movement.

This book proves that “Spiritual warfare” is a false doctrine. The necessary Scriptures that support this statement are discussed in detail. People are actually oppressed just because they believe in this doctrine. This book will challenge your beliefs on this subject and it will set you free.
During the morning hours of Tuesday, June 2, 2015, the Lord Jesus Christ instructed me to write this report. He called it a “report” because He wanted me to write it as a “report of imminent events” to those who wish to understand the prophetic times we live in. The aim of this report is to bring clarity and to counter confusion in the lives of many Christians regarding the end-times, especially regarding the prophetic time we live in at this moment. The Lord’s aim with this report is clear: Clarity will equip and enable God’s children to follow His vision for and in this time period we are living in now. It will enable them to report for duty. It will enable them to become mighty instruments in God’s hand. End-time ministry does not only mean that God is at work. It also means that we have some part to play in order to enable God to carry out His plans. This report will enable God’s children to stand up and be counted”.
