There are many children who know nothing of their biological parents that grow up struggling with the same tendencies as their biological parents. It’s in their DNA.
This isn’t something that we pray away, it is our test. We choose to submit to the urges of the flesh or to the obedience of God. I’m not saying that we do rituals to rid of these sinful urges, etc., that would be no different than to pray to rid of the sinful nature. Both are inherited 1st from Adam, then down through generations to us. Instead of focusing on those edges, we take the thoughts of them captive to the obedience of Christ. We put our attention on God and his will for us.

Epigenetics is a science and it contradicts the Scriptures. It is in no way supported by the Bible. Modern-day scientists suggest that genes cause demonic activities and sins in the lives of innocent people and that does not raise red flags in the minds of people? According to them innocent people suffer because of the behavior of their parents. All families right across the world basically all have the same tendencies and diseases when it comes to sin and diseases. All children are more or less very similar to all parents because of natural influences. It is not something unique or characteristic to just one specific family. It is not the DNA in our physical bodies that causes us to sin. It is the Adamic nature in our souls that “urges” us to sin.
What about the people who lived right through the ages who had no knowledge of the science of epigenetics? How did they handle this threat without even knowing it is there? I am talking of the disciples and every Christian that lived during the past two thousand years.
It is very evident that these people did quite OK by just living according to the word of God. Paul and others lived absolutely victorious lives and they reigned as kings and priests in the kingdom of God. Why should we alter the way they lived? They did nothing other than pursuing holiness and being obedient to the word of God and it worked for them. The bottom line is that DNA cannot change (contrary to what some people believe the science of epigenetics confirms this fact) and genes do not cause demonic activities or sins in the lives of people. Genes do not manipulate our lives. We choose to sin which can lead to demonic activities in extreme cases. A Spirit filled man or woman is led by the Spirit and they have the DNA of God in their spirits. They are in fact spirits, they just live in a body. They have control over their lives through or because of the regenerated spirit in them and they are not in bondage through or because of the flesh. They live in victory through Christ Jesus who has set them free. The truth will set us free and Christ made us free indeed.
I need to emphasize it again: “Human DNA cannot change at all”. Scholars of epigenetics identified factors that, according to them, can influence our DNA (which might be true) and subsequently our behavior (which is debatable) but, they do agree and admit the fact that human DNA cannot change.
Apart from this fact, medical scientists agree that an extremely low percentage of diseases are in fact caused by defective or mutated inherited genes. Less than 0.01 %. These defective genes are caused and influenced by natural causes and not by wrong or sinful behavior or choices. Some scientists regard this percentage too low but that is merely based on speculation. This was initially caused by them constantly referring to the “possibility” of particular diseases being caused by inheriting mutated genes in an attempt to identify the cause of particular diseases. Medical science just do not know what causes diseases and they often attempt to put the blame on genes. They however just cannot prove their suspicions. This science is huge but when you speak to a well qualified scientist in this field he will admit that diseases caused by the inheritance of genes are in fact very low.
The fact is that virtually every human being’s DNA is normal. There is nothing wrong with it. Another fact is that if you check a young person’s DNA and you compare it to his DNA when he is old you will find absolutely no difference. DNA cannot change. Another fact is that the few people who have diseases caused by DNA (less than 0.01%) can be identified because the defects in their DNA are visibly clear. Medical scientist can see the defects when they check and test it. Another fact is that DNA with visible defects are extremely rare. Medical scientists cannot explain why the DNA of such people are defective. However this DNA did not change in their bodies. These people were born with these defective DNA. This is the reason why medical scientists admit that quite a small number of diseases are in fact caused by DNA. DNA proves this fact. Sicknesses and diseases are in fact caused by something else.
Whatever people do to get rid of curses or influences from their ancestors is nowhere to be found in the whole Bible. Not Jesus nor the disciples or anybody else ever learned or taught or warned against anything other but to repent and to do the will of God and to resist sins by means of a decision. (No discussions on generational curses, no warnings about generational curses, no instruction to break curses, no instruction to confess the sins of anybody except our own, no instruction to look at and/or analyze the sins or lives or fleshly/sinful roots or genes and DNA of any ancestors, no warnings about deeply rooted factors or conditions inside our parents that influence our daily lives).
In Part 1 of this email debate I described why Jesus Christ never altered the way God the Father dealt with spiritual issues. It is very significant that Jesus never changed the words and the acts of the Father in this regard. Then it was very significant to realize that even the disciples never changed this either. People just do not realize the significance of this aspect. However, the spiritual warriors and the supporters of the generational curses doctrine changed all this. They deviated from the way of God in a profound way by “inventing” all sorts of spiritual methods and ways of spiritual ministry and the dealing with spiritual issues that are not supported by the Bible. It is not in the Bible because it is false teachings, the traditions of men and nothing but the doctrines of devils. By the way, any and all false teachings are doctrines of devils and all false teachings have consequences.
We cannot regard the doctrines of devils or the traditions of men higher than the word of God. We cannot rely on science for spiritual guidance. We can only rely on the word of God for spiritual guidance. We as Spirit filled believers (born of the Spirit) only look at our sole ancestor which is God himself. Only in him do we find true deliverance and true redemption.
The Bible says that all of us have the Adamic nature in our souls and that it will be in constant opposition with the Divine nature in our spirits. It simply means that there is something in us that tends to do the wrong thing but that we can control it and even submit it to our spirits. This is the Adamic nature which is in our souls. Not in our bodies or flesh. Our bodies do not have “minds” of their own. Our bodies cannot think and desire. The mind is in the soul. It has nothing to do with DNA or genes. Our souls are referred to as “flesh” in the Bible. This is not complicated at all. It is pretty basic stuff. Let us analyzed this briefly:
The body (flesh)
The body has pretty basic needs. It needs to be protected therefore it needs clothes. It needs fuel to exist or to function therefore it needs food. It needs to reproduce therefore it needs sex. So there where the human DNA or genes are situated everything is pretty basic and simple. And what is clearly obvious is that basically everybody needs the same stuff. It is not different from one person to another. That implies that genes or DNA are not that unique or different from one person to that of another or one family to that of another. DNA basically tells the building blocks of the body how the body should look like. So DNA is physical and that is why families are lookalikes. It is natural and simple and not spiritual at all. Any deviations or changes because of defective genes will cause a person’s body to malfunction or to look different from the rest of the family. It is not spiritual. It is completely natural.
The soul (flesh)
In the soul we have the Adamic nature which is spiritual. The soul is not a solid or physical substance but a type of spiritual body. The soul does not contain DNA but a “nature”. A nature is a “way of is”. It is a “personality” and this personality changes. It changes a lot. It changes as we learn new things and are exposed to different influences and situations. No matter who or what we are exposed to, those things and those people and those situations will help to shape, form and change the soul. That is why we are a lot like our parents. We spent our whole lives with them so they will be instrumental in influencing us. If we are exposed to other people more than to our parents we will be a lot like those people. That is why adopted children are like their adoptive parents.
It is for this reason we either follow the example of our parents or we deviate from that. It is a natural thing. We saw what alcohol abuse did to our parents and we decide not to fall into that same sin, or, we saw what alcohol abuse did to our parents and we decide that it is not really that bad. The sin (enjoyment) is worth the trouble and we do the same thing. This is what Ezekiel 18 is all about. This chapter in the Bible deals with the responsibility and accountability of people. The father will not be responsible or accountable for the sins of the son and the son for the father. Everyone will carry the responsibility and accountability of his own sins. Just read this chapter and you will never believe in generational curses again.
In the soul is also the conscience. Apart from the Adamic nature God also put a conscience in the soul of every human being. We all have a conscience and the conscience helps us to decide what is true or good or acceptable. It is there to help us making the right choices. That is why it all comes down to us making a choice…. to sin or not to sin. He saw the sins of his father but did not walk in that sin (Ezekiel 18).
It is in fact all about a decision. It is not a binding and not a stronghold. It is just a matter of who we want to please. God or the flesh (soul). Paul says that we do so by resisting the will of the flesh (soul). There is nothing demonic about this. Not every sin open doors which leads to oppression or possession. If this was the case each and everyone of us would have needed to be delivered from demons on a daily basis. In fact, only people who get involved in serious demonic or occultic activities and sins are eventually oppressed or possessed.
The spirit
The spirit is a spiritual body but totally different from a soul body. We are spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body. God is Spirit. God the Father is up to this day a Spirit. He has no body and He will never have a physical body. I do not even know if He has a soul. Jesus is different. He is Spirit, soul and body. Whatever this Spiritual body of God the Father is, Jesus Christ and the sons of God (Christians) are born of this Spirit and of God the Father.
1 John 3:9
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
John 3:8
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
According to 1 John 3:9 we have the seed of God the Father in our spirits. We have his seed in our spirits because that is what He has in his Spirit (we are born of God the Spirit). This “seed” is spiritual DNA. This DNA is not in the soul. We do not have it in our souls because we have the Adamic nature in our souls. We do not have this seed in our bodies. We do not have it in our bodies because we have the DNA of our earthly parents in our bodies.
Because we are actually spirit and born of the Spirit, we are the sons of the living God. And because we are his sons we have his seed in our spirits and therefore we are like God our Father. We are not like our earthly fathers. That is why the lives of people drastically change when they are born again. The most cruel or repulsive person becomes this meek and wonderful person
Luke 3:38
Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
According to this verse Adam was the son of God. God was his only ancestor. God had to put DNA in his physical body so that his children could be born with the same DNA as their father. In this sense God was Adam’s Father. He was also his Father because He breathed of his own Spirit into the nostrils of Adam which made him a “living soul” (See verse below).
1 Corinthians 15:45-50
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
On the other hand, we as Spirit filled children or sons of God are spirits like our Father. We are not living souls like Adam was. We are born of God and of the Spirit and that is why we have only one ancestor namely our Father God (John Peterson, son of God). We absolutely have no other ancestors at all. We are not descendants of our earthly parents and we are not even of the same family (if they are not saved). We are from heaven from the family of God.
In conclusion:
This brings me to your first request. You asked for help because of some demonic activities in your life which you started to experience lately. I then mentioned to you that we have found this a common problem in the lives of people who believe in generational curses and the false variation of spiritual warfare. Both the doctrines of generational curses and the false variation of spiritual warfare are the traditions of men and the doctrines of devils. Because of this it has consequences, especially in the lives of people who are getting involved deeper and deeper in the activities of these doctrines. The more involvement and the deeper people go into this the more demonic activities are experienced in their lives and the more problems people face in their lives. Some of these consequences are demonic originated diseases and other calamities in the lives of such people.
In this debate we covered generational curses but the false variation of spiritual warfare is even worse. I have written a book about this: “The Truth About Spiritual Warfare“.
Let me explain why people are demon oppressed and even demon possessed because of these false doctrines:
1. First read the short post, “Is Spiritual Warfare Dangerous?” for you to understand the different realms of spiritual authority.
2. There are two areas of engagement with demonic spirits that are Biblical: The casting out of demons from people and the driving away of demons from people. Why these two areas? When a person is possessed demonic spirits need to be cast out. When a person is oppressed demonic spirits need to be driven away. This is supposed to be done swiftly without allowing these spirits to manifest or to speak.
They are totally under our control and cannot do anything unless we allow them to do so. Many people make three basic mistakes when they deal with demonic spirits: They allow them to speak, they allow them to manifest and they get involved with demonic spirits in a way that the word of God and God himself do not permit. This unbiblical way is covered in point “1” but that is not all. People misunderstood the Biblical reference of spiritual warfare as a “metaphor” (being ready and alert like a soldier) to the actual involvement with demonic spirits in a real warfare as if evil has not yet being defeated by Christ on the cross. So instead of keeping the state of quo (keeping demons outside of their areas of dominion by giving the devil no foothold in their lives – by guarding the “border posts” and “borders” of their lives and areas of dominion) they allow demons to enter their areas of dominion by getting involved with them in a spiritual war. No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
3. There is a demonic spiritual domain where unsaved people have entered by means of the evil and devilish lives they live. These people are satanists, witches, warlocks, priestesses and priests and they closely work and are closely involved with demonic powers like principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places and other demons. This domain is the kingdom of satan.
In this kingdom he reigns. Everybody in this kingdom are involved in all sorts of activities which is dark and evil and bad. People are killed, babies are sacrificed and people and demons dominate each other through all sorts of witchcraft like curses and all sorts of acts of a cruel nature. In this domain or kingdom everybody are actively involved in the things of this kingdom and therefore they are exposed to and submissive to and even extradited to the evil rulers of this domain. The rulers of this domain have no authority over Christians an even unsaved people (who are not involved in these activities) and cannot harm them in any way at all. Unfortunately though for many Christians, the false teachings of generational curses and spiritual warfare have opened the door for them to enter this domain and to get involved with this kingdom and its rulers. 4. How can one identify a Christian who is involved with the kingdom of satan in this unbiblical way? Firstly they belief in curses (which is in fact witchcraft and a reality in the kingdom of darkness – witches really curse and bewitch each other and they can do the most amazing things with and to each other.
This domain is a totally different world where a lot of things are possible which is not allowed in the kingdom of God or in the natural world of unsaved people. This implies that unsaved people and Christians are both protected against these things. However, Christians who entered this world are not protected against the things of this world because of them exposing themselves by leaving the domain of God and (in a sense) entering the domain of satan. They are still Christians and still saved but they chose to take part in things not from the kingdom of God but from or of the kingdom of darkness. Secondly they get involved in an ongoing warfare against the demonic creatures of this world in a way that is actually part of this evil world, which in fact never comes to an end and never can come to an end. One cannot defeat the enemy in this way. You can identify these people by means of the slogans or “curses” that they use or send out to defeat demons. These “curses” are words like, “In the Name of Jesus I curse you”. “I break any curses in my life that came through the generational bloodline of my ancestors”. “In the Name of Jesus I bind you satan”. “You will not be successful in your strategies and manoeuvres in the life of so and so”, etc..
By getting involved with the “curses” or “witchcraft” system of the kingdom of darkness they expose themselves to the “citizens” of this kingdom. They in fact moved down to their level. This whilst not Jesus nor the disciples or any other person in the Bible (Old and new Testament) ever got involved in activities like these. They are actually involved in a “Christian” type of witchcraft which is in fact not Christian. It is from the devil and devilish of nature. That is why the false teachings of generational curses and the false variant of spiritual warfare are so dangerous. Although Jesus Christ and his disciples never used these words these Christians do. There is a Biblical way of Spiritual Warfare and it is completely and totally different from these false teachings. 5. The problem is that although the curses of witches and satanists do work in the kingdom of darkness, the curses of Christians do not work in that kingdom. Why? because the rules of a specific kingdom work in that specific kingdom only. It does not work in another kingdom. The laws of France is applicable within the borders of France, not in Germany. Christians base these doctrines on the Bible (kingdom of God) and then they attempt to use it in the kingdom of darkness. It is for this reason that we need to stay in the kingdom of God. In the kingdom of God only three things work; cast them out and drive them away and resist sin in your live. Nothing else. Also, if the rules of the kingdom of darkness is allowed in your life, like false generational curses and the false variation of spiritual warfare, then you allow darkness in your life which means that you become involved in the domain of darkness.
This is why the false teachings of generational curses and the false variation of spiritual warfare are so dangerous. No wonder satan has taken generational curses even further by including the science of epigenetics like he did with astrology. This is nothing different from people’s behavior being influenced by the time of their birth (Astrology – Horoscopes), or by something as innocent as color (people’s emotions and behavior being influenced by the colors they like). People actually use the findings of a science to build Biblical doctrines. If the behavior of people changes DNA and that changed DNA causes sins and diseases in our lives then we are being punished for the sins and behavior of our ancestors and the Bible does not support it (Jeremiah 31:29-30 and Ezekiel 18 and other Scriptures actually say exactly the opposite). The Bible is very clear that we are not influenced by our ancestors when it comes to sin and the punishing of sin.
It is yet another attempt of science to get involved with spiritual issues and it just cannot be accepted. By believing these false doctrines and getting involved in these false doctrines people expose themselves to demonic activities and influences in their lives and they will experience problems in their lives. This is dangerous. So in stead of resisting bad things in our lives we actually accept those bad things to happen because of ignorance. It all depends on how much and how deep we get involved in this. There is a belief that if people believe false doctrines those doctrines become a reality. It means that believing false doctrines have consequences and is dangerous.
You might have noticed that the images I used for this debate are all of the morning sun rising up from behind the horizon. This symbolizes the fact that we as new creatures in the kingdom of God are not at all influenced by the “night” before. When that sun came up it dispersed darkness completely. It is a new day and a new beginning for us all. God has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. We live in the kingdom of light and we should not allow darkness back in our lives through ignorance.
