My name is Basie Martins. I trust that you are all well and I want to thank you again for listening to this program. For you who do not know, this program is about dreams and visions.
In the previous session, we discussed a few principles regarding the movement of objects in dreams and visions. We also discussed the meanings and the purposes of substitution in dreams and visions, we discussed the purpose of different sized of the different objects as well as the meanings of different numbers in dreams and visions. We mentioned why the most important and common numbers in dreams and visions are the numbers from 1 to 13.
In today’s session, we are discussing the meanings of clothes and the meanings of vehicles in more detail. We are also looking at the differences between these groups of symbols. We know that both these symbols represent human beings but we need to be able to distinguish between the different purposes and principles between these groups of symbols. Let us first see what the Bible says about clothes.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
Clothing symbolizes our spiritual preparation for ministry and/or for life. It represents what we are doing or busy with. Not only the five-fold ministry but also the preparation of the ministry of every child of God is symbolized by the clothes they wear. When we clothe ourselves spiritually we are actually equipping ourselves (preparing ourselves) with the ability to function in the spiritual kingdom of God. We dress ourselves with what we prepared ourselves to be. Therefore clothing says a lot about us. However, please do remember that clothing mostly represents what we prepared ourselves for pertaining to a specific situation or incident. It is usually not about our preparation in general but about a specific situation on a specific day or about a specific problem or issue in our lives. However, it does sometimes tell us what a person prepared himself for or what his attitude is about life in general. For instance, a person with a crown on his head, clothed with the attire of a king and holding a staff in his right hand speaks of a spiritually mature person. Such a person has succeeded in overcoming the circumstances in his life. He reigns like a king in his sphere of influence and overall circumstances in his life. It speaks of a person who knows the principles and laws of the kingdom of God. It speaks of a person who learned to apply the word of God and the principles of God in the kingdom of God or in his life. So this is the situation in the life of a specific person in general.
Some clothes speak of ability and authority a crown or the uniform of a soldier, some clothes speak of protection like gloves and jerseys and jackets, some clothes speak of attitudes like a T-Shirt or trousers, some clothes speak of spiritual conditions like torn or worn or new clothes, some clothes speak of certain spiritual tasks like a cloak or a tie or a jacket, some clothes speak of strength and power like the armor of a soldier, some clothes speak of perfection like a tie or a white garment or a wedding dress, etc.
17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
19 Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith, he is girded continually.
Black clothing symbolizes evil motivation. It speaks of a person who prepared himself to do evil things. This can be a temporary situation or it can speak of a person who made it his life’s mission to do bad things and to be negative and/or depressive.
Clothing (Dirty and torn)
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Dirty or filthy rags symbolizes an unrighteous person. He chose this unrighteous lifestyle and he chose to live without God or Christ. This speaks of a person who is lost and who lives in sin and spiritual chaos.
When you dream of a known Christian dressed like this you need to pray for him. It speaks of him backsliding and falling back into unrighteous acts of sin. This speaks of his spiritual condition in such a person’s life that needs to be addressed. You should pray for him and appeal to him to repent and to find his way back to Christ.
Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
Red clothing symbolize people who have prepared themselves to be violent and to get involved in conflict, disunity, and hatred. Remember that otherwise good-natured people can be seen in a dream with red clothing when it symbolizes a certain situation or a specific incident. It does not mean that a person is always like this.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
A closet symbolizes a place of secrecy or privacy or loneliness in a person’s life. In a person’s own bedroom in his personal closet is the place where he keeps his personal belongings, away from public eyes. It is also in personal closets where people hide their secrets.
A closet in dreams also reveals how well a person has been prepared for ministry. The clothes you have in your closet tell a story. It tells everything about a person’s preparation for ministry or for a particular job or mission.
The closet also tells a story. When it is old or rusted or damaged it symbolizes that their spiritual preparation has man-made or old doctrines of men as a basis. This speaks of the need of this person to replace old and erroneous doctrines with authentic and truly Biblical based doctrines. It also speaks of the need for such a person being spiritually prepared for ministry the right way.
The colors and the conditions of clothes as well words written on clothes and patterns on the fabric (color schemes) all play a part pertaining to the meanings of the different symbols in the dream, or vision.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.
1 Thessalonians 2:5
For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness.
And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
A cloak is a symbol of spiritual covering, clean or unclean. People cover themselves with cloaks of evil or cloaks of goodness. It speaks of what a person decided to be or prepared to do in their lives. It is an attitude that they put on. It is a decision on how or what they want to be.
A cloak also symbolizes an anointing and a covering from God. A person hides under the anointing from God.
Now let us look at what the Bible says about vehicles in dreams and visions:
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
The meaning of vehicles is similar to the meaning of horses as in Revelation 6. Vehicles are utilized to move from one place to another place. It is specific functional instruments or equipment that enables us to achieve our purposes in life. It, therefore, symbolizes ministries, motivation (life’s journey), natural jobs, business situations and special movements and projects in life.
In this sense, vehicles are used so that we can progress in life, achieve something in life or move forward on the roads of life. Different vehicles are the different instruments that enable us to embark on life’s different journeys. These different journeys or roads are spiritual roads or spiritual journeys but also non-spiritual journeys in life. In the case of natural jobs or business situations, these roads are the ways and methods that we utilize to achieve our goals in work situations.
Take note that “motivations” and “movements” and “projects” open up numerous applications of vehicles in dreams and visions. I have noticed that wherever people work together to pursue a common goal, not only in a work situation or a spiritual ministry but even with organizations like school boards, sports boards, clubs, counsels and associations, God makes use of the symbol of vehicles to show the motivations or missions or goals or other aspects of the people on the boards or movements or associations.
Different vehicles enable us to achieve different results or breakthroughs and it also speaks of people who specialize in certain areas. So different people with different motivations and ministries and job situations are represented by different vehicles. However, a specific person can be represented by different vehicles pertaining to different aspects of his ministry, different situations in his life or ministry or job situation and different incidents in his life.
Some vehicles like aircraft and spacecraft enable us to achieve supernatural breakthroughs which are normally not possible. When vehicles of the “air” lift from the ground it either neutralizes the earth’s gravity force or in the case of spacecraft, it breaks out of the earth’s gravity force. In the spirit realm, this means rising above the natural laws of this world to operate or function in the supernatural. When you see a vehicle of the air taking off in a dream it speaks of a new move or a new level of ministry or a new phase of ministry coming. Some vehicles enable us to achieve new things that were previously not possible.
The driver of the vehicle is usually the person the dream is about but not always. In some instances, it can be your boss at work behind the wheel of his vehicle representing his “company” and you a passenger an employee. Passengers play supporting roles or are somehow involved with the ministry, job or business situation. Spouses usually dream of them being passengers in vehicles because of the supportive role that they play in the life and the ministry of her husband.
The roads we travel, whether in a car or on a bicycle or on a motorcycle or on foot are all important aspects of dreams. Look at the conditions of the roads and all sorts of symbols in and around these roads in dreams and visions. It will reveal a lot about the meaning of the dream or the vision.
Road signs are very important in dreams in visions. The natural meanings of road signs are to be interpreted in a spiritual sense as well to apply the spiritual meaning of road signs in dreams and visions.
Take note that there is a particularly important meaning for vehicles when it comes to the ministry of teaching. The five-fold ministry of teaching is often symbolized by vehicles.
Take note that Ships and boats are part of this group of symbols as a ship is none other than a vehicle that is used on water.
What does it mean when you observe a Vehicle Accident in a dream or a vision?
A vehicle accident in dreams and visions symbolizes dissension and disunity. When you and a very close person, usually your spouse or a business partner, disagree on something you may dream of a vehicle accident, especially after an argument or before an argument. The damage on the vehicle and the way the vehicle got damaged reveal more information on the specific circumstances. Take note of colors and other circumstances in the dream, or the vision. Specific colors will probably reveal the reason why there is disunity. Who was the driver? How was the vehicle damaged? How serious was the damage and exactly which body-parts of the vehicle got damaged? Did somebody get injured or did someone die in the accident? All these aspects tell you more about the meaning of this dream.
If an accident occurs in a dream involving two vehicles, there is disunity between two people with different ministries but who are somehow involved with each other. If the accident involved your own vehicle only, the disunity is probably between you and your spouse or you and somebody within your ministry. If somebody purposely causes an accident it means that somebody wants to damage your ministry or your business on purpose.
In terms of the five-fold ministry of teaching, a vehicle accident symbolizes a person who experiences issues and conflict regarding doctrines. In this case, this person needs to prayerfully check his doctrines and sort out any conflicting issues.
What is the meanings of Aircraft in dreams and visions?
When you dream of aircraft you are dealing with the spiritual aspects of a spiritual ministry. This is ministry on a higher level than the normal. It is not about your own efforts. This is all about a supernatural ability and can also be a part of a bigger group of people. Aircraft in dreams and visions suggest that people have been made able to lift off from the earth in this sense the earth symbolizes natural or worldly ways and worldly systems. Aircraft symbolizes a person operating and functioning on a higher level. It is all about your God-given ability, through the work of the Holy Spirit, to function on a higher level.
When we dream of aircraft, it is usually a revelation about the spiritual aspects of your ministry. It is not about the physical or natural aspects of your ministry. This is the impact that you have or should have on and in the spiritual realm. It is all about dealing with the spiritual aspects of life with the power of God or with the ability God has given us.
Aircraft is also related to the fulfillment of prophecy.
An aircraft, coming in for a landing, speaks of the fulfillment of a prophecy. This is different from seeing an eagle coming in for a landing. With an aircraft coming in for a landing, the fulfillment of the prophecy depends on human behavior. Such prophecies depend on us believing, praying and being obedient to ensure that such promises come into fulfillment. A crashed aircraft indicates that a certain prophetic word has not and will not come into fulfillment.
What is the meanings of military aircraft in dreams and visions?
Fighter planes represent God’s army or God’s children operating in authority. Please do not be mistaken on the practical aspects of this symbol. This does not mean that you are involved in spiritual warfare against evil. It means that you are ready and able, like a soldier, to prevent the enemy from tempting you into sin or unbelief. Warfare in this sense is a metaphor. We should always be ready and protected like soldiers. We utilize these fighter planes to protect our borders and our border-posts. We do not give the enemy any foothold in our lives. The enemy is not to come past our borders. Other symbols in the dream or vision will reveal the specific meaning of the dream or vision. Military aircraft, therefore, symbolizes our spiritual ministry of warfare against the enemy. I explain these aspects in detail in my book, “The Truth About Spiritual Warfare” which is available on my website and other online bookstores for more information in this regard.
In another sense, military aircraft symbolizes the need to overcome challenges, circumstances, and spiritual resistance to ensure that specific prophesies come into fulfillment in a person’s life.
What are the meanings of bicycles in dreams and visions?
1 Corinthians 14:15
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
People need to pedal a bicycle to enable it to move. That is why a bicycle in dreams and visions symbolizes a person’s personal or own efforts or zeal regarding his personal ministry or prayer-life. The color of the bicycle and the condition of the tires and frame will reveal more detail. With a motor vehicle or a motorbike, own effort does not play a role because these vehicles are powered by an engine. The color of the bicycle, the direction traveling and the circumstances in the dream will reveal more detail.

What is the meaning of a bus in dreams and visions?
A bus speaks of the whole church or congregation or the global ministry of a congregation. A Bus is a passengers vehicle. There are one driver and many passengers. This speaks of a ministry where the leader is supported by many people. Whatever the condition of the bus, the color, and different incidents tell us more about the specific congregation.
What is the meaning of a car in dreams and visions?
A car has the same meaning as a “horse” did in Biblical times. It symbolizes a person’s personal ministry or motivation in life or natural job or business situation. Whatever the condition of the car, the colors and the incidents that the car is involved in, tell us more about the personal motivation, ministry, and work of a person. Christians dream of personal ministries as well as the other aspects of this symbol whereas unsaved people dream of their natural jobs, business situations and personal motivations in life.
What is the meaning of a driver’s license in dreams and visions?
A driver’s license speaks of a person who has been given the authority or the permission to preach. It can also symbolize the authority of a person in a work situation to perform a task previously not allowed to do.
What is the meaning of a Vehicle’s engine in dreams and visions?
The condition of the engine of a vehicle speaks of the ability of a person. A powerful engine running smoothly speak of a person who is well equipped for ministry or for his occupation. A small and/or a broken engine speaks of the inability of a person to do what is expected from him in his work situation or in his ministry. The colors of the engine reveal more detail in this regard.
What is the meaning of fuel in dreams and visions?
Fuel for a vehicle symbolizes the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in ministry. It symbolizes that a person has the anointing of the Holy Spirit in his ministry. A lack of fuel speaks of the absence of the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
In another sense, fuel symbolizes the funds to financially support a ministry.

A black car also speaks of a person who is oppressed and depressed by the devil who lost his power because of that. It speaks of downhearted people who are about to give up due to financial or physical or material reasons.
It also speaks of a person who lost his motivation because of oppression.
What is the meaning of a motorbike in dreams and visions?
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
A motorbike symbolizes a person’s personal prayer life and relationship with God. It is not a passenger vehicle and predominantly used to transport the driver only. If it is a powerful motorbike it symbolizes a powerful prayer-life. If it is a small motorbike it symbolizes a weak prayer-life. Also look at other symbols like the color of the motorbike, the person on the motorbike’s condition, the clothes the person is wearing as well as other surrounding conditions.
It also symbolizes a person praying under the power of the Holy Spirit. The size of the engine symbolizes the person’s ability to pray in faith and according to the will of God. What makes our prayers powerful? Faith, praying in the Spirit (tongues), faithful in prayer, maturity in relationship with God, resting in the love of God and so on.
The size and the color of the motorbike, as well as detail regarding the person who rides the motorbike, will reveal more information. The bigger the motorbike the more powerful the person’s prayer-life or prayer ministry. Negative colors and positive colors will reveal the state of the person’s prayer ministry.
What is the meaning of old Vehicles in dreams and visions?
An old vehicle speaks of a traditional ministry. People sticking with old methods and old methods of ministry in the body of Christ are symbolized by an old vehicle. In a natural sense, it speaks of an old business that was established many tears ago.
What is the meaning of a pale-green Vehicle in dreams and visions?
A pale vehicle speaks of a person who experiences judgment and destruction by evil forces. These people are often filled with resentment and fight evil with evil.
What is the meaning of a parked Vehicle in dreams and visions?
A parked vehicle, especially when it is parked in a parking area or a garage, symbolizes a person with an inactive ministry.
What is the meaning of a vehicle being driven recklessly in dreams and visions?
Reckless driving symbolizes a person who acts or who speaks recklessly when they are dealing with other people. It symbolizes a person who is disobedient to God which leads to inappropriate behavior. It speaks of a person who loses his temper and gets involved in unreasonable arguments. When dreaming of reckless driving a person’s motivation when dealing with people is reckless. Usually, they say things without thinking and they ignore reason or sober discussion and interaction as symbolized by ignoring red lights and stop signs. They usually insult or accuse people of things and show no regard for the disunity and dissent that they are causing. If people do not pay heed to warnings of reckless driving they will eventually cause accidents as we have discussed in this session already.
In a positive sense, a person moving quickly and skillfully through traffic without causing accidents and without ignoring traffic signs and traffic rules speaks of a person who is spiritually well equipped to carry out his ministry or to do his physical job in a very professional way. So this driver is abiding by the rules of the road and the colors of symbols in these types of dreams are usually positive colors.
What is the meaning of a red Vehicle in dreams and visions?
A red vehicle speaks of a person who is facing conflict. In another sense, it speaks of a person who has his power drained and tested because of conflict.
What is the meaning of rockets and spacecraft in dreams and visions?
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 11:23
For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread.
Rockets and spacecraft symbolize a call from the Lord for fasting and prayer. It takes a lot of engine power and it takes a lot of fuel to launch a rocket or spacecraft into space. It is not easy to break out from the earth’s gravity force and the earth’s atmosphere. This symbolizes the fasting process which is also difficult at first but gradually becoming easier.
Rockets and spacecraft symbolize an increase in miracles, healing, and other spiritual blessings because of the overcoming power that fasting entails. Natural limitations are broken as people who fast rise above the natural laws of the earth similar to spacecraft lifting off from the earth and entering space.
The calling of an apostle can also be symbolized by a spaceship visiting space and landing on other planets such as Mars. This speaks of a person being called as an apostle, moving into the realm of supernatural authority and not limited by natural laws. Such a person really lives from every word that came from the mouth of God. They usually cease relying on worldly systems and choose to trust God for every need that they have. For this reason, these people display great faith in the word and the promises of God. Usually, wonderful signs and miracles follow them wherever they go.
What is the meaning of trains in dreams and visions?
So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
When you dream about motor vehicles it symbolizes your ministry. Many ministries functioning together in unity are symbolized by a train. Although it does not always appear that we are working together with other people we are one in the bond of love. In the spiritual world, we are all connected.
The church preaches and proclaims a gospel of unity. A train symbolizes an army. It symbolizes a mighty army, a great force or a powerful group of soldiers. In this sense, the church is the army of God. The Hebrew word for “army” in the above-mentioned Scripture means army, company of soldiers, great forces, power, might or “train”. Each one with his or her own ministry (motor vehicle), but in a corporate sense, these ministries are linked together like the separate compartments of a train. The powerful engine is the power and might of the Holy Spirit leading this army.
A train also symbolizes the negative aspects of the institutional church (man-made doctrines and traditions on a rigid course symbolized by the railway tracks). A train cannot deviate from its tracks but is rigidly guided by it. It cannot go anywhere except where the tracks are leading to. People in the institutional church who wants to break away from old erroneous doctrines, usually implemented by the Orthodox-Roman Catholic church, have an uphill battle changing such doctrines.
What is the meaning of a heavy or a big truck in dreams and visions?
A truck symbolizes a ministry that involves more than the local church.
A big truck symbolizes a teaching ministry. When you see a big truck loading natural raw materials like sand and stone it symbolizes a ministry providing resources or building material to a large group of people. These resources are raw materials (or new material) and need to be prepared in such a way that the body of Christ can accept it and use it. This speaks of a person doing pioneering work in the church. I think Martin Luther probably fell in this category. He took the church into a new direction and the church’s resources had to be changed. People like this usually write books and prepare handbooks and other study material.
What is the meaning of flat vehicle tires in dreams and visions?
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
Vehicle tires symbolize a person’s motivation and willingness in ministry and in work. If the tires are flat it means the person is not ready to minister. If it becomes flat it means the person lost faith in his ministry.
So what is the difference between clothes and vehicles when it comes to these groups of symbols representing human beings in dreams and visions? Clothes are about personal preparation and personal attitudes or personal power or personal ability in life. Vehicles are about motivation, and the ability to use resources available to us to achieve our missions in life. So vehicles are about our abilities and motivation to perform certain tasks and missions in our ministries and jobs and missions and utilizing the ways and means and resources that we have in life.
This is all for today. In the next session, we will discuss the meanings and the differences between the symbolic meanings of houses and people in dreams and visions.
Thanks for listening. See you next time.
