My name is Basie Martins. I trust that you are all well and I want to thank you again for listening to this program. For those of you who do not know, the topic of this series is, How to Live Successfully and Victoriously in Christ. It is all about us, the body of Christ, and us the church and us as individuals in the kingdom of God, being successful in all areas of life. It is about us claiming our full inheritance. It is about us putting in place on earth, which is already in heaven.
In the previous session, we investigated and evaluated the doctrine of financial prosperity in the body of Christ. We have found that, despite the wrong motives of many church leaders, prosperity teachings are Biblical and from God. The Bible confirms over and over again, in the Old Testament and the New Testament, that God wants his children to prosper. He wants us to have more than we need. He wants us to have a surplus so that we can invest that surplus in the lives of poor people. He wants us to look after the poor and the needy. He wants to bless us and provide for us because we believe and because we give. Prosperity comes through faith and through giving.
We have seen that if we do not embrace these truths about prosperity in the body of Christ, and if we do not apply these principles in our lives, we cannot really live victoriously and successfully in Christ.
In this session, we are covering a very important aspect that we all need to understand about spiritual development and spiritual growth to ensure that we conquer in the areas of life that we discussed in this series. That aspect is the interaction between the Holy Spirit, our spirits, our souls, and our bodies. We briefly touched on this subject in a previous session but we need to discuss this aspect in detail.
If you have listened to an explanation about this in the past, just stop a moment. What you have learned about this aspect might not be Biblical at all. All of us need to take a fresh look at this aspect because if we understand this correctly, most issues that we need to be delivered from, will happen automatically if we apply the principles in our lives that I am discussing in this session.
First of all, I need to lay a good foundation, so that we completely understand our role and our responsibility in this regard. There should not be any gray areas or misunderstandings about this.
Many people think that the human spirit is dead until a person repents and accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior. They believe that when this happens, God regenerates that spirit, it comes alive and God starts to inhabit the spirit of man. This is not the case.
The unsaved spirit is not dead, it is alive but it is separated from God. The word “dead” or “death” in the Bible always has one of two meanings, either the person is dead, meaning not alive, or the person is separated from God, meaning spiritually dead.
When an unsaved person is saved, it does not mean that the wall between the spirit of man and God is removed resulting in them not being separated anymore. The reality is that the old spirit is the old man that Paul referred to. It was the old man, the old Paul or the old spirit that persecuted the church and approved the killing and murder of innocent Christians. It was the old man that sinned. That is why Paul could say that he never did these things. It was the old man, the old spirit who did those things. So when the Bible says that we are a new creation it is literally true. It is still the old soul and the old body but the real you, the spirit, is a new creation. It is not just the old spirit that got a revamp. The old spirit died and does not exist anymore.
When Paul repented, when he became born again, a new creature was created. A new spirit was created by the Holy Spirit. That spirit is what Paul called the new man. That spirit never sinned. That is why 1 John 3:9 says the following:
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
John 3:5-8
5 Jesus answered, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
7 “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”
8 “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”
So the spirit of man, born of the Spirit of God is a new creation. It came from heaven but people do not know this truth. The spirit of man is like the wind. Nobody can tell where it comes from. Nobody would ever have thought that the new spirit that became a reality, or came into existence for the first time, after the cross, comes from heaven. Jesus was the first one. He became the first of many brothers that would be born of the Spirit of God:
Romans 8: 29
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
It never existed before. It is completely different from the spirit of the unsaved man. Both are alive but one of them is separated from God and in essence totally different. The old spirit can never be one with God. It is not in a state and also not capable to be regenerated so that it can receive and contain God. This is the reason why the Holy Spirit could never enter Old Testament people. The Holy Spirit could only come over them. A new spirit, a new man, that is of the same class as God, had to be created to be able to receive God, contain God, become one with God and to be able to become God’s wife (the wife of Christ). It was not possible with the old spirit.
The spirit born of God is connected to God. There is a connection like a baby’s “umbilical cord” between God and Christians. This spiritual or figurative “umbilical cord” never dries out or breaks or gets disconnected at all. It is always there and always functioning. The life in God, called “Zoe life” is constantly flowing from God into our spirits. Our spirits are always in harmony with God. It never sinned. It cannot sin and it never takes part in anything wrong or bad. It is always pure and holy and in harmony with God. It knows everything. It knows all things at all times. It is saturated with everything of God or flowing from God and although it is not God, it even has the mind of God:
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
1 John 2:20
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
Christians are always anointed by the Holy Spirit and by God and that is why the spirit always knows all things. We have the mind of Christ. We have the mind of God. And the things of God are not confidential or top secret or inappropriate for human beings to know. The things of God are good and beautiful and therefore God is transparent. There is nothing that God needs to hide from us. Everything about God is pure and holy and precious. But because it is precious and holy, it is not known to just anybody. And that is why the things of God are hidden. It only belongs to those who belong to God. It belongs to those who are of the same class as God. So although we are not God, we are of the same class as God. We were born from the Spirit of God. We are the wife of the Son. We are of the same class, and therefore, we enjoy divine privileges.
There is nothing that the spirit of man does not know. It knows everything, like God, but we are unaware of this because our souls and our bodies do not know these things. We experience life through our souls and bodies. We are aware of what is going on around us through our souls and bodies, through our physical senses, and not through our spiritual senses, as spirits, which is actually what we are. So although we know everything, although we have the mind of Christ, we are mostly unaware of it.
It is hidden from the soul and the body. The soul brain and our physical brains know nothing about God. Our spirits do, but it is not supposed to stay that way. Our souls and bodies need to be transformed. It needs to be renewed so that it can also know God. It needs to be taught all things because these things will renew the soul and the body and it will change them and restore them.
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Philippians 4:7-9
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
Our souls and our bodies need to be saturated with the things that I just read in the Bible. The things in our spirits need to flow through to our souls and then to our bodies. Just imagine the hierarchy of God. God on top and the umbilical-cord-type of connection connected to the spirit of the saved person below. Then a short cord connected to the soul below the spirit and then a short cord connected to the body below the soul.
This has a lot of implications. For instance, our spirits already know all words of knowledge and prophecies for all people anywhere or anywhere in this world but, those words of knowledge or those prophecies can only be used to help those people if our souls can access it. God speaks to us through our spirits. He does not speak to us through our physical ears. He speaks directly into our spirits. On the other hand, we speak to people through our souls and our bodies. We use our souls, the brain and the intellect, and our bodies, our tongues, and mouths and our ears and our hands and limbs to communicate with each other. Even Christians cannot communicate with each other through our spirits. We communicate with each other through our souls and our bodies. We cannot bypass the soul and the body by dealing directly with the spirits of other people. We were not made to function that way. We need to renew our minds and we need to renew our bodies. When it is renewed, we can speak spiritual things through the physical ears and soul ears of other people. Then we can allow the Zoe life of God to flow into other people as well. This is when we minister life unto people. This is when we deliver and heal people.
The problem is that our souls and bodies were not saved or regenerated when the new spirit was created. The moment that a person is saved, the soul and the body are not enlightened. They still do not know anything about God. The soul and the body are totally in the dark and they know nothing when it comes to spiritual things. This is always a huge problem for the spirit. It now has a huge and difficult task that will take time and a lot of effort and cause a lot of frustration.
When a person is born again, he is a new creation. He is spirit, he has a soul and he lives in a body. When the new spirit is born, the old spirit dies. The old man dies and does not exist anymore. This is what Paul implies in the Bible. Make no mistake, between the old man, which is, of course, the old spirit and the soul and the body a lot of damage was done. The old spirit caused the soul to sin even more. The soul did not need any help or any motivation to so but the old spirit did give the soul all the support anyway. The old spirit was full of sin. It was sin. It was filled with death.
However, the new spirit is the complete opposite. It is filled with life. It is full of God. It is filled with joy and love and thankfulness and all the other characteristics of God. It is full of God. It is exuberant with God and the things and ways and word of God. It is filled with knowledge and wisdom. The spirit loves the word of God. It knows the word of God. It knows God. The Zoe life of God is constantly flowing through that “umbilical cord” into our spirits.
1 John 1:2
For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.
However, the spirit has a big challenge and a difficult task at hand. The old spirit or the old man did not struggle at all to saturate the already wicked soul and body with even more wickedness. The new spirit is filled with this wonderful life and treasures and precious gifts and riches but the spirit knows that the body and the soul would not be that much interested in all these wonderful things.
The spirit knows how he looks from the outside to people who interact with him. They cannot see any of all these wonderful things that are in him. People still see the old man. They still see this smoking selfish man walking around, not showing much of a change at all and still prone to do the old things he always did.
Since that wonderful day, just a few days ago, the body is constantly screaming for this and for that and the soul just gives in without even discussing it with him (the spirit). This has been very frustrating. The spirit knows that the Zoe life has not flowed through to the soul yet. There is just a small little dot in the soul that is affected by the life in him. That is the little part that caused the soul to repent. That is the little part that caused the soul to admit that there is a God and that mankind is doomed without that God. That is the small little part that agreed to repent and to serve God but now it seems that the soul is stuck on the old things. It just gives in to the cravings and addictions and preferences and desires of the body without even showing any resistance. The spirit warns the soul and reasons to the soul but all his efforts fall on death ears.
The spirit knows that from the outside, all three of them look the same. They are like identical triplets. They are the same size and they look the same. The spirit knows that everything in the body is also in the soul and in the spirit. There are three sets of ears and three sets of eyes and so it is with everything else. But the spirit also knows that the life of God in him has not yet flowed into the soul and into the body. He knows that he has spiritual ears and spiritual eyes that are spiritually open. It sees God and it hears God. The spirit also knows that the ears of the soul and the ears of the body are still closed. The soul and the body are both deaf and blind. The life of God did not yet flow into those ears and those eyes and those hearts and into all the organs and limbs and that is why they may look the same from the outside but in the inside, the spirit looks completely different.
Some people look different from the outside as well. The spirit and the soul look the same but the body misses a leg or an eye or a limb or one of the limbs is deformed and some bodies do not function and so on. In such cases, it is even obvious to other people that the life of God, the Zoe life has not yet flowed into that body. If it did, that body would have been healed. That body would have looked like the spirit. This is the task of the spirit. By using all the aids to his disposal, the word of God and the Holy Spirit and other mature Christians and preachers and books and literature, the spirit attempts to get the soul and the body to allow the Zoe life of God to flow into them. This is what the Bible calls sanctification and faith.
Remember, you are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body. Your soul is not you. Your body is not you. It is part of you. It is an element of you. The spirit is the real you. Your spirit is saved and already lives holy and pure before God from the moment that you got saved. Your spirit was born in a sanctified state. There never was any sin in the spirit at all since birth. It never sinned and it will never sin because it cannot sin.
If you die right after you were born again, you will open your eyes in paradise, even though your soul and body were not saved yet. We are saved through grace. The problem is that the longer we live without saving our souls, the more we risk living mediocre and difficult and bad lives here on earth. Christians who do not allow the Zoe life in their spirits to flow through into their souls and into their bodies, suffer on earth. By doing so they expose themselves to a lot of bad things that will hurt and damage and even destroy their souls and their bodies.
So what are the things that make it difficult for the spirit? There are a few things. The first one is the fact that the spirit is standing alone at the one side and the soul and the body on the other side. The spirit’s side is called life and the other side is called death. Between them is a huge dividing abyss.
The more the spirit succeeds in convincing the soul and the body to accept yet another piece of the life of God to flow over to their side, the abyss loses width and depth. If the soul and body willfully allow the life of God to flow over to them completely, the abyss will eventually become so narrow and so shallow and it will even disappear completely. In such a case, there will be no more dividing line between them. They will be on the same side. At such a time, it means that the soul and the body have completely submitted themselves to the Spirit of God and that the soul and the body have completely been restored and completely in unity with the spirit and the Holy Spirit. Now when this happens then there are no more emotional issues in the soul and no more sicknesses, diseases, and calamities in the body or soul which used to cause the body or soul to suffer.
Another problem that makes it difficult for the spirit is the uncontrolled thoughts of the soul.
The thoughts of the soul are carnal and so the soul thinks horizontally or downwards. The thoughts of the soul are not aligned with heaven. It is not spiritual and vertical. Just as the umbilical-cord-like connection between God and the spirit is vertical, and the life of God flows down from heaven, so to speak, into the spirit, so the thoughts of the spirit are vertical. It flows up in a vertical direction toward heaven. It is not attracted by earth and it does not deviate into a horizontal or downwards direction.
The thoughts of the spirit are divine and the thoughts of the soul are carnal. The thoughts of the spirit and the thoughts of the soul clash. It cannot exist in harmony. The thoughts of the spirit are divine and life. The thoughts of the soul are death and it is carnal and toxic. It produces destruction and death.
So whilst the soul is sending signals to the body, to the mouth and the tongue, to speak what it is thinking, the human mouth produces death and destruction. It speaks bad things into existence.
Proverbs 18:20-21
20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
The unfortunate thing is that whilst the soul thinks carnal things, it is on a path of self-destruction. It speaks death over the body and the soul. In such a case the spirit cannot do much. The spirit can only advise the soul and warn the soul and pleads with the soul to repent and to submit itself to the Spirit of God and the word of God. The Holy Spirit leads the soul, and the body to the word of God because it is the word that has this built-in power to deliver the soul and the body. The word of God has this built-in ability to produce faith. The word of God is spirit and it is life.
The spirit of man convinces the soul of the benefits of submitting to the will of God and the word of God. The Holy Spirit does the same. The Holy Spirit already succeeded to convince the soul to accept Jesus Christ so there is a good chance that the soul will be convinced to go further. Take note that the Holy Spirit and the spirit of man never forces the soul. It only appeals to the soul and if the soul refuses, the spirit of man does not take part in whatever sin the soul and the body get themselves into.
Every time that the soul submits himself to the will of God, he allows a bit of the Zoe life of God to flow into him. Every time that the soul renews his mind, he allows more Zoe life to flow into him. So over some time, the soul is being filled up more and more by the Zoe life of God. The soul realized the benefits of being obedient to God. The soul decided not to resist and oppose the Spirit of God anymore. The soul eventually decides to submit every area and all areas of life and its existence to the Spirit of God. So the soul eventually arrives at a place where it is in total harmony with the Spirit of God and the spirit of man. So what happened is that the soul had been restored. It stands blameless before God. In such a case, it is just a matter of time to get the body restored as well.
At this point, I want to explain a little misunderstanding in the church about the interaction between the soul and the spirit. Up to now, I described the soul and the spirit of man as standing opposite each other and it appears that there is a fight going on between the two. So with this, I risk even causing more misunderstanding in the church. I did this only to make it clear that the spirit does need the soul to submit himself so that the life of God can flow through the spirit down into the soul as well.
Firstly there is not a fight or struggle between the two. The soul is not standing against the spirit and the spirit is not forcing the soul. It only appeals and pleads with the soul and convinces the soul. The soul is actually opposed to the Holy Spirit. Let’s look at this in Galatians 5:17-26
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit (take not that spirit is capitalized in this Scripture. This whole piece of Scripture refers to the Holy Spirit and not the spirit of man), and the (Holy) Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the (Holy) Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the (Holy) Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the (Holy) Spirit, let us also walk in the (Holy) Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
This happens quite often in the lives of people. We know that the Pharisees opposed the gifts and the workings of the Holy Spirit when they confronted Jesus about it. Many people still oppose the gifts and the workings of the Holy Spirit today. Just the other day I watched a group of men standing up in a restaurant and started to sing an anointed song. It was divine and the Holy Spirit moved among the people in the restaurant and some of them even joined them in honoring and magnifying God. But, it was obvious that many people in the restaurant were offended by this. I am convinced that even Christians sitting there were offended by this move of the Spirit of God. This is the soul of man in action. The soul opposes the Spirit of God, not the spirit of man.
So in this Scripture, we can see that the Holy Spirit is the one that needs to convince the soul to allow the Zoe life of God in the spirit of man to flow through to the soul and subsequently into the body of man. When this happens, the body and soul are delivered. This is true deliverance because it came from the inside.
Up to now I only described the role of the spirit of man as if it was standing alone against the soul and the body. In reality, the spirit is not alone but assisted, at all times, by the Holy Spirit. This is the work of the Holy Spirit. It helps and assists. The Spirit of God and the spirit of man both want the soul and the body to be renewed and to be transformed. This is what Paul said about it:
1 Thessalonian 5:5-23
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (Just for clarity, this Scripture says “in everything, give thanks”, it does not say that it is the will of God that these things happen to you. It says it is the will of God that you give thanks in all things that happen to you)
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (Just for clarity sake, God never said that we should prove bad things. We should prove all good things and hold fast to the best. He said abstain from all appearances of evil, in fact, this is the next verse, verse 22)
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Verse 23 confirms that man consists of three parts; spirit, soul, and body, and it also confirms that God wants all three parts to be blameless. For the soul and the body to be blameless, they need to allow the Zoe life of God to flow through the spirit into them, and they will have to be completely renewed and completely transformed to ensure that they are blameless in the presence of the Lord when He comes.
Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The Zoe life fixes the soul and the body. It restores the soul and the body. It delivers the soul and the body from evil practices, sins, bad and sinful emotions like fear, bitterness, hate and racism. It delivers the soul and the body from sicknesses, diseases, and other calamities.
The moment that the soul removes the blockage between the spirit and the flesh (soul and body) so that the Zoe life can flow into the flesh, that moment deliverance starts. It takes a bit of time but eventually, the flesh will be completely restored and whole.
What happens if the flesh refuses to remove the blockage or seriously hinders the Zoe Life from entering the flesh? Well, the flesh will remain in bondage. Deliverance would not take place and, if the flesh takes it too far, the person can lose his or her salvation. I am now briefly going to explain why I make this statement. Many people say that if a person rejects Christ or renounces his faith, he was never saved in the first place. It means that they believe in a “once saved always saved” doctrine. It means that they feel that the spirit of man stays saved, even though the soul and the body were not saved at all. Now I agree that many people will be saved which allowed this to happen. Their flesh will not at all be saved when they die but they will still be saved because of their spirits still serving God faithfully.
However, there are a few warnings in the Scriptures that suggest that people can and will lose their salvation if they are not careful. There are even Scriptures that refer to people who did fall away or abandon their faith. These Scriptures cannot be ignored. Lets read some of them:
Hebrew 6:4-6
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
This Scripture suggests that it is possible for a Christian to fall away from faith or to lose his salvation.
Paul said that we must be extremely careful and diligent in pursuing holiness, for it is better to lose one’s eye than to lose one’s salvation.
Paul also said the following:
1 Corinthians 5:5
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
The fact that the person must be handed over is a precautionary measure. It is done to shock the person to his senses. That is the same reason why God chastises his children. It is to put pressure on them to stop sinning. He does not want his children to go astray.
The Bible also confirms that people will leave the faith:
1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.
2 Corinthians 11:3
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
2 Peter 2:20-22
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Mathew 24:9-13
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.”
11 “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
12 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”
13 “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
Romans 11:19-22
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Hebrews 3:12-19
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Jesus also gave His disciples the following warning: And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray…”
People have all sorts of explanations of why these Scriptures do not mean that people will really lose their salvation and that they have not been saved in the first place. These arguments are simply contradicting the Scriptures.
This session is very important. Whatever you do regarding the deliverance of your soul and your body, by allowing the Zoe life of God to flow into your soul and body, will determine your deliverance and your success in life. The renewing of your mind and the acceptance of the Zoe life of God in your spirit and your body set you free. This is real Biblical spiritual warfare. This is Biblical spiritual warfare in its purest form. Why? Because by saving your soul and your body, by allowing the Zoe life to flow into your soul and your body, you remove any foothold that the enemy could have used to control your soul and body. The enemy uses our souls to influence and control our bodies. When the soul is saved and in harmony with the Spirit of God, then the enemy has no foothold in your life.
This is all for today. See you next time.
